Open Settings using the cog at the bottom left of Lumo. You can change the language, check for a new version, and manage work saved in this browser. The image size and format controls are separate, in the preparation sidebar.

Change the language
Under Language, choose English or Svenska. The interface changes straight away. Your images, settings, and prepared results stay in place.
On your first visit, Lumo uses a supported language from your browser’s preferences, or English if none matches. It remembers your choice in this browser when storage is available. If storage is blocked, the choice lasts for the current session.
These guides use the English button names. Copied AI folder instructions explain the task in English and use labels from your chosen interface language. The downloadable skill is in English.
Check for updates
- Connect to the internet and open Settings.
- Under Updates, choose Check for updates. Wait for the check to finish.
- If a new version is ready, choose Update now. Lumo saves the current workspace, updates, and reopens it in the same window.
Wait for any image reading, processing, or saving to finish before updating. Other Lumo windows can keep working.
Lumo also checks for updates automatically. When a new version is ready, the update notice offers Update now or Later. Choosing Later lets you carry on; the update stays available in Settings.
You have the latest downloaded version describes the version already on your device. Run a connected check to look for a newer release. Updates require a supported browser and the published app.
If an update fails, keep Lumo open, check the workspace message in Settings, and retry while connected. If Lumo can’t restore the workspace after updating, try Retry or Previous version when offered. Start fresh… removes that workspace and its recovery copy after confirmation, so use it only when you’re ready to discard that work.
Reopen unfinished work
Lumo keeps a recovery copy of your work in this browser. It includes images, preparation settings, results, and folder connections. Reopen Lumo in the same browser and profile to return to unfinished work.
Under This workspace, Kept on this device means that Lumo has saved a recovery copy. To get image files for your website, you still need to use Export.
If Other unfinished workspaces appears, choose Open beside the session you want. It opens in another window. A session already open elsewhere can’t be opened or removed from that list until its other window is closed.
After reopening, automatic processing and folder watching are paused. Resume them when you’re ready. Folder access may need your permission again.
Clear a workspace
Clear workspace removes all Batches and Folders in the current Lumo session, including their images, settings, prepared results, folder connections, and recovery copy. It does not delete original files or copies you’ve exported. It leaves your language choice and saved custom output-set library in place.
- Export any results you want to keep and wait for saving to finish.
- Open Settings → This workspace → Clear workspace.
- Read the confirmation, then choose Clear workspace if you’re ready. This can’t be undone.
To empty only one Batch, use its row menu and choose Clear images instead. That keeps the Batch’s preparation settings and offers Undo. Reset preparation in the right sidebar is different again: it restores the active Batch or Folder’s preparation defaults and keeps its images.
If recovery storage is full
Settings shows how much of Lumo’s 512 MB recovery allowance is in use. It covers unfinished sessions together, including original images and prepared results. Lumo doesn’t remove old work automatically to make room.
Export important results first. Then remove an unused session from Other unfinished workspaces, or clear a finished workspace, and choose Retry if shown. If storage still fails, keep the app open and save your images to files.
Browser cleanup, clearing site data, or private browsing can remove recovery data. Keep exported files for work you need to keep.
